OCtoolguy
I got to wondering about sources for wood that we all use. The one nearest me is Cherokee Wood Products. I have recommended them in the past and I know a few folks have tried them. I just contacted them to see if they are considered "essential" at this time and they are open for business. I told them I would spread the work here. If anybody else has a source that they use, lets post those businesses that are open and available. https://www.cherokeewood.com/hardwood-lumber/woodworking-supplies/scroll-saw-wood-and-thin-wood-boards-for-crafts/

GrampaJim
From Ocooch Hardwoods: Ocooch Hardwoods Is Shipping Orders as Normal, But Closed for Walk-ins The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting individuals and businesses alike. As a rural, family-owned and operated business, we consider ourselves fortunate to have not been directly affected by the virus—either through personal health or business operations. We are operating as normal, with the exception of being closed for walk-ins. As of April 3, 2020, we are still receiving and shipping orders with the consistent, friendly service you expect. If anything changes, we will update you immediately and post any relevant information on this page. What thickness do you recommend buying? I can get either a 5x5 or a 4x8 and they will but it to order. They have 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4. If I had a boatload of money, I'd buy a sheet of each but I don't so I'm asking.
Scrappile
Ray, I have always used 1/8" and 1/4" for scrolling. I only use 1/2" or 3/4" for making jigs or cabinet or something like that... OCtoolguy and scrollingforsanity 1
Dave Monk
Ray, I always have 1/8" and 1/2" on hand. I use 1/8" for scrolling and 1/2" for backers. The 1/8" only cost me about $13 for a 5x5. 1/4" cost me the same as 1/2" so I don't mess with it. OCtoolguy

Don't use 1/8 much but use lots of 1/4. For backer I purchase cheap Luan 3/6" plywood. OCtoolguy
Woodmaster1
My local supplier and Kevin's is closed for a least two weeks. LLJOHNSONS Workbench. They were doing a pickup only until Michigan went on stay at home order. I missed getting some Baltic Birch by a few days. Now I have to wait awhile, still have plenty of hardwood. Looks I will be doing a lot of resawing. OCtoolguy and kmmcrafts 1

I still have about half of it left... because I've been working with hardwood the last two months now, LOL.. Got a lot of hardwood to go through before I run out.. don't think I could run out if i tried this year and maybe half of next year, LOL .. But once I start kicking out the ornaments again this early summertime..... that BB ply will be gone in a couple weeks easily.. so hopefully things will be open back up by the time I need it.. RJF +1 that is how we maintain our sanity during the shutdown. There would be less domestic issues if your out in the shop all day. barb.j.enders
I bought 1/8in and 1/4in bb ply, some rainbow poplar and a big chunk of cherry a couple of weeks ago when we started the physical distancing. I haven't really sold at craft sales, so I should be good for a while!! OCtoolguy
new2woodwrk
Lowes in my area is still selling Poplar and common, as for BB I still have enough for a few more cuts but when it runs out I'll be trying the internet place again for 12x12 sheets. I like those OCtoolguy
Woodmaster1
I just got an email from my plywood source. They are now taking phone orders and you pick it up and load it. No interaction with the employees. If they deliver you must maintain 10’ separation and they takes picture no signing the invoice. At least I will be able to get some Baltic birch in the next couple of weeks (yeah!). OCtoolguy, scrollingforsanity and kmmcrafts
Jim Finn
Just this week I went to my local wood supplier and never got out of the truck. Just told them what I wanted and they loaded it . Life is good. OCtoolguy
Crosstimbers
I picked up an order from my local wood supplier a couple of days ago. The only time I had to get out of the truck was to pay for my order. It was a strange setup though. They had the front door propped open with a folding table keeping you from going inside. The clerk was at a counter about 15 feet away. I had to read my credit card information to him. Anyone in the area could hear. That was really uncomfortable. Ain't going back until all this is over! Go back to traditional bartering. Trade a goat for plywood. RJF OzarkSawdust, Crosstimbers and OCtoolguy

Can’t pay the bills with a goat. I suppose if the wood dealer is in the country, they might want a goat, but most wood dealers are in the city! They don’t want a goat! So really, it’s just a very dumb idea! Jim Finn and OCtoolguy
teachnlearn
Back to basic bartering. Give them a gold bar and its useless in these times. A goat supplies milk, cheese, and if really needed meat. Who needs plywood? Can't eat it, Can't wash your hands with it, and I'm not sure a cut square of it will wipe behind. dgman
But we are not talking about bartering! We are talking about getting wood to satisfy our hobby needs! Do you have a goat to barter with? Do you think a plywood dealer would take a goat for trade?
