cashew
I think I did well today -- segmentation cut with scroll saw and shaped with a dremel. 1/2 Baltic Birch cut with #3 modified geometry and shaped mostly with a sanding drum. Next is paint then mounting all the elements together (also still have more to cut). The letters came out pretty sweet also. spirithorse
Very nice work! I realize there isn't much grain direction since it was segmented but, did you consider thinning the paint down so that you can see the grain and know it is a wood working project? I'm just curious because I think it would be even more beautiful than it already is if the paint was more subdued or more subtle. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse The board it's going to be attached to you can see grain even though it is Dark Navy blue (btw I use spray paint so no thinning) -- but the rest is a recreation of a patch for an police officer and he likes it a more faithful re-creation plus the 3d effect Edited April 11, 2020 by cashew
