First bevel cut

Recommended Posts

I've never tried cutting bevels, but I got it in my head to learn how to make scroll saw bowls. So I bought Carole Rothman's book and told myself “I can do this” (I've got myself into a lot of trouble that way).

Today, when I made a practice cut I noticed that the saw had some vibration that it doesn't normally have. My saw is a Seyco ST-21 tilting head saw. It's a smooth running saw at 90°. So I'm wondering if it is because of the angle? I was cutting at its maximun angle of 30°.

Is it normal for saws to vibrate more when cutting at an angle?

My Excalibur doesn't. Call Ray at Seyco. He'll help you.
