Fish Posted April 7, 2020 Report Posted April 7, 2020 To bad people don't give credit where credit is due and make money off of your work. $13.72 to be exact. I found the Last Supper, my scroll saw pattern, done as a stencil, on sale at My Custom Stencils.com I guess you'll never stop people from doing those things. Sorry, I'm just griping OCtoolguy and scrollingforsanity 2 Quote

OCtoolguy Posted April 7, 2020 Report Posted April 7, 2020 You must have put the fear of God into them. I just went through all 45 pages of their stencils and didn't find yours. scrollingforsanity, Fish and Jim McDonald 3 Quote
Fish Posted April 7, 2020 Author Report Posted April 7, 2020 (edited) The first one is what I found on Bing with the link to their site. That's how I found it. The second is the picture I took on my Iphone and sent to my wife. You can still find the first one searching on Bing with their website on it and go from there. I did and also found it's gone now. I had sent them an e mail and they took it off really fast. All within a half hour. I didn't get a response in my personal home email though. I suggested they donate the money they have made off of it to families of those they have lost to coronavirus, I didn't get a response to that either. I hope they remember they will stand in front of the man in the middle of the picture someday. Edited April 8, 2020 by Fish Badgerboy, davidg and OCtoolguy 2 1 Quote

spirithorse Posted April 8, 2020 Report Posted April 8, 2020 I've seen similar instances from this site before and personally think it is too easy for people to browse the patterns and copy them without becoming a member of the village. Just my honest opinion. God Bless! Spirithorse Fish and Dave Monk 2 Quote
Fab4 Posted April 8, 2020 Report Posted April 8, 2020 Hi Dan: You can look at this 2 ways 1 - as you just did 2 - They liked your pattern so much they decided to make a profit from itIt's your fault, for making such good patterns, none of my patterns ever get stolen or borrowed...LOL As hard as it is to keep this from happening, it will always be there unfortunately Good luck with trying to get a response, please let us know if you do get one Fab4 Fish 1 Quote
Fish Posted April 8, 2020 Author Report Posted April 8, 2020 They at least took it off their website. People who do that could at least give people credit. This happened to Steve Good awhile back. Fab4 1 Quote
wombatie Posted April 9, 2020 Report Posted April 9, 2020 Glad you found out about it, just think of all the patterns they have stolen and the pattern makers have no idea. Marg Quote
Crosstimbers Posted April 9, 2020 Report Posted April 9, 2020 I'm glad you found it and did something about it. Sounds like they have complied. You can go to the U.S. Copyright Office for information, but basically, you own the copyright the minute you create the work. Nothing has to be filed anywhere. JustLarry 1 Quote

With Google image search being as good as it is, I think there's no reason for failing to do this, except laziness, which is totally just an excuse. I see this exact same lack of verification issue on social media, where people share something not because it's vetted and true, but because it fits within their notion of what is right. Quote
