amazingkevin
This one makes me proud .I've been wanting one 3 years now .This is great for delicate fret work projects and such.Much lighter than a trim router or a horsepower regular router. It'll even take the battery powered dremil. My hope's of useing it as a tool to speed up cutting out patterns in wood rather than use a scroll saw.It sounds feesable.Problem is noise and the neighbors so timing is needed.I think i could save many hours on a big project with this.Any thoughts?I can't wait to rout some crosses and what have you to spruce them up a notch. mikesscrollsaw
I just got that last month for my birthday. I've used it for half rounding thin stock. The main purpose I wanted it was to be able to drill pilot holes in the center of large pieces of wood accurately. Not using a hand drill. My drill press only has a 4 inch throat so larger portraits had to be done by hand. If I stack cut them and the hole was crooked the blade would travel and mess up the bottom layer. So far it works great.
cjswoodcrafts
Kevin, congrats on the new toy, what i use for drilling out pilot holes is a rotary tool with a drill bit 1/16th, works well, just gotta keep it somewhat straight. its quicker then using a drill or drill press
Clayton717
I have a router base for my dremel just not the plunge type. I use it a lot for small work when my regular router is to big to use. I like Mikes idea of using it to drill holes with that a regular drill press can't get to. will have to look for one.
