Popular Post Rockytime
My mom was kind of a homespun artist. A lady born and raised on the North Dakota prairies with a fourth or fifth grade education. In spite of her lack of a formal education my mom had so many accomplishments. The painted cream can is a sample of her work. Our home was so unique people would come to visit the inside. It was kind of a very nice mini museum. Our yard was equally unique A good portion of the yard was decorated with geometric designs made of colored glass. My mother collected buckets of Noxema, 7-Up bottles, Pond's Creme and other colored glass. She would smash them and shake them for hours until the the sharp edges were worn off. She would use these to make colorful designs in the yard. In the fall all the glass was picked up, washed and saved till the next spring. She was a glutton for hard work. Sorry for the rambling but I've always been so proud of her!
