I have no idea what any of the woods are except one is Camphor Laurel. I am really enjoying making these, I don't know what I was frightened of. I am using Flying Dutchman Polar blades #3 and #5 but one was so dense that I used 2 #5's so I had to get some #7's, they go through the wood like it's butter. I just don't recognize the pattern above especially the first one. PS: Diana also had a group of standing mini birdhouses. The point I was making is whatever it takes to get to 1 1/4” is the hardest part of making these. Sometimes woods like Aspen And pine have fuzzies that need sanding, but most hardwoods come out nice and smooth, at least for me. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One of the house, the wood was very rough, it was the type of wood it was, it took ages to get it to a smooth finish. But the other 3 I didn't have to sand at all.
