jollyred
I could be completely wrong, but the only thing I can think of is a hole saw. Tom OCtoolguy

Dragonkort
yes its one of those, i dont remember the brand name of it but i figured for 12 dollars it was worth the risk and i sure do hope it works like they say it will and that it is sturdly made and wont break. NC Scroller
Hmmm....Brand = nobrand. Made and direct shipped from China with 2-3 month delivery. No warranty info and spec sheets said made of steel. All these are to me anyway STAY AWAY RED FLAGS. kmmcrafts and OCtoolguy 1

Same here... in the past, but no more, I did get a couple of these direct ship from China items and was very dissatisfied with the quality. Rolf
I agree with the direct shipments from China. Besides the quality issues I hate the long delivery times. I did however order a replacement print head for my large format printer through Alibaba It came direct from the factory where they are made for many printers. It worked beautifully and restored an expensive printer. OCtoolguy and NC Scroller 1
OCtoolguy
Well, I realize it has taken 40+ years to get us to this point and it will take as long to wean us off the Chinese stuff but we have to make an effort if we want to keep this country going. It really is a shame. OCtoolguy

I know what it's all about trying to save money. I'm retired and on a fixed income but I still TRY to shop for U.S. products. Heck, I even have 2 American cars and an American motor home. I really try to shop U.S.A. NC Scroller, Rolf and ben2008
kmmcrafts
I think most here know where I stand on buying American made products and not only American but also small ( especially local ) business's ... Even if that means waiting 3 months for a scroll saw to be made, LOL Many things I use there is no other source than China.. I'm not knocking China made products.. they do have some things of very nice quality and price.. I just look for American made because I'm supporting some American family somewhere.. Which could be a farmer in Bushton KS.. or someone that works at Next Wave in OH... Now with the Tariffs on import products.. The prices of cheaper imports have gone up.. many things are priced very close to a USA made product.. you just have to seek out the right product for you.. be it a import or not.. just remember who you're feeding.. ben2008
Just for the heck of it I decided to look up what power tools are still made in America. To my amazement, quite a few. All of DeWalt power tools are made here. Some Craftsman also. Black and Decker and Makita, has a line of American Made power tools. Most hand tools except Klein, Crescent, some Stanley have been long gone, mostly to China. I was sorry to see all Milwaukee power tools are not made here. I'm sure there are others. I'll just have to search harder. You would think all American manufacturers would shout out and put an American flag and say "Made In America" boldly on their packaging. kmmcrafts and OCtoolguy 1

My youngest son has followed in his old man's footsteps and is proudly selling Cornwell Tools. Their first line hand tools are all made in USA. Their toolboxes are all made in USA. They sell a lot of Milwaukee power tools and my son says they are top quality. The many tools that they sell which are not made by Cornwell are made in many places but all are top quality. Cornwell Tools is still privately owned by their employees and sold on trucks owned and operated by licensed dealers. If you want to be your own boss, I highly recommend the mobile tool business. ben2008
I had 2 Milwaukee power tools and they are excellent. I'm just sad they are no longer made here. The 7 1/4 circular saw i have had for about 25 years. It is a beast and weighs about 15 pounds. It's getting to hard to handle for this 80 year old. I just gave my old 14.4 Milwaukee drill to my son-in-law. His foreign one died. I have a new American made DeWalt that works as good as my old Milwaukee. Nice to hear there are other companies still making hand tools in America. I'm 80 and have never heard of Cornwell tools. Apparently they are not sold retail. I believe Snap-On are made here too. Cornwell Tools are the oldest in the U.S. One year older than Snap-On. Mac Tools started in 1935. You are right about how they are sold. Only from trucks but if you want to buy them, it's not difficult to contact a dealer through the company at Cornwelltools.com. They are priced fairly. Snap-On has gone out of sight for price. And a good share of their tools are made either in Canada or Mexico. I started out with them in 1970. I went to Mac in 1991 and then on to Cornwell in 1998. Cornwell was/is the best company of the 3. Matco is the one I'd stay away from. They make nothing of their own. Everything is like Sears/Craftsman in that they put everything out to bid. kmmcrafts
