Iguanadon Posted July 23, 2020 Report Share Posted July 23, 2020 Even us "veterans" of scrolling have bad weeks. I thought the beginners would appreciate knowing that. I had 2 pieces become trash this week... I was engraving the cat wall hook and I bumped the table and it threw everything off... TRASH #1. Then yesterday I was cutting a custom piece with the dog's name and after I finished and removed the pattern, a minor blemish on the wood that I would never have paid attention to while laying out the patterns, made it look like he had a black eye... Yeah Kevin, I agree, I love various grain, colors and variations normally... This one just stood out at me. I debated it for a while but chose to toss this one. Things from custom text customers wanted and I misspelled to cutting the wrong type of car for the name I gave it.. I had a Subaru car clock request once that was a BRZ.. they also made a BRX.. everything was good other than that last letter, darn it.. LOL Told the wife when I run out of wall space I'm putting an addition on the shop so I have more room for the oppsies LOL... For some reason she now inspects each pattern or custom order I get.. meflick Posted July 24, 2020 Report Share Posted July 24, 2020 I hate when I have those kind of days. Instead of throwing the one away, use it as a sample at shows (if you ever get to do them again.) It can serve couple of purposes. One, it can show a customized pattern. Two, it can show people that you are willing to redo something when it doesn't look right rather than send out something you think they wouldn't like.
