In my readings about Kodak's cynoacralate (sp) glues back in early 70s, they stated that it would perform faster in higher humidity areas.

But, they also warned it was not a "void filler" type of glue and was only to be used on slick-to-slick surfaces for maximum adhesion.

We used them to attach polyester backed film stocks to metal clips.

(Stuff was over $30 per fluid ounce in 1974)

Cyanoacrylate activates by the moisture present on the surfaces being adhered. Water can be used in place of accelerator, though I would think distilled water may work best. No proof of that, it just feels right, ya know? 😆🤣

Just remember water of wood will raise the grain so it might effect the surrounding area.

Right but you just have to get the mating spot damp. I put glue on one face an accelerant (water) on other. Not were finish will be.
