Working on project and ran out of accelerator spray for the super glue. So put water in sprayer and used same way. Works the same just as fast setup time.

In my readings about Kodak's cynoacralate (sp) glues back in early 70s, they stated that it would perform faster in higher humidity areas.

But, they also warned it was not a "void filler" type of glue and was only to be used on slick-to-slick surfaces for maximum adhesion. 

We used them to attach polyester backed film stocks to metal clips.

(Stuff was over $30 per fluid ounce in 1974)

Cyanoacrylate activates by the moisture present on the surfaces being adhered. Water can be used in place of accelerator, though I would think distilled water may work best. No proof of that, it just feels right, ya know?

Learned something, use water foe accelertor.

Just remember water of wood will raise the grain so it might effect the surrounding area.

When I used to build train models I would breathe on the CA and the moisture from my breath would hasten it's cure.

Right but you just have to get the mating spot damp. I put glue on one face an accelerant (water) on other. Not were finish will be.
