Beautiful, work Gary. I agree, it would look great done in an exotic hardwood.

I ordered 1/8" in Walnut, Aspen, Alder, and Beech today from Ocooch. Should have it by Fri.  The pieces are small so I only need a 4" wide board, trying some wood I don't normally use.  If it comes out good I might even try some more exotic wood.

Ron, you're the master of beautiful little boxes...what wood combination, from what I ordered, would you try first?

I'm thinking ( very dangerous ) maybe Watco Natural dip for a finish, what do you think? What finish have you been using on your boxes?

My wife grabbed that one up before I had a chance to pot some kind of finish on it! LOL

I did this jewelry box pattern by Alex Fox over the weekend. Man...that's a lot of pieces for a little box! It's 1/8" BB ply done with a #1 Pegas blade.

I think it would sell at the craft shows this winter, so I might get some 1/8" Walnut and Hard Maple from Ocooch and try it with hardwood.

Alex makes some unique patterns. He did this for his mother's birthday, and posted it last week. I thought it was cool and got the pattern from him.

Nice job, interesting to see this box in an exotic hardwood.

Yes, she likes small boxes, but sometimes she cant find separated top of the box, so I made one with rotating inner part.
