Rockytime
I no longer drive on the interstate so my daughter drove me to Paxton Hardwood in Denver. My daughter called in the order. We had lunch then went to pick up the BB. I never saw the wood. They put it in her vehicle and I finally saw it after getting home. Beautiful stuff for $26 per 5'X5' sheet. What is unusual is both sides of the sheets have a coating that feels like plastic or urethane. Very smooth. Should be wonderful for painting but won't accept stain. I have never seen anything like it. The invoice lists the BB as Russian Baltic Birch. I'd like to call the and ask questions but I am too hearing impaired to use the telephone. Anyone seen anything like it? Can't take pictures of just plywood but will try scrolling it tomorrow. OCtoolguy
Dennisfm56
Never seen it, but I have heard of laminated bb. Maybe that's what it is. Rockytime and OCtoolguy 1

Rockytime
Started scrolling with it today and it is laminated. I had not ordered laminated BB. Scrolls beautifully. I used a #1 Pike blade. They do not have reverse teeth and the scrolled piece is remarkably fuzzies free. amazingkevin, John B, danny and 2 others 4
OCtoolguy
I had some given to me one time by a friend. He called it "apple" ply. It was 1/2" thick and like yours it was slick on both sides. I used it on my table saw for fence sides. amazingkevin, Rockytime, scrollingforsanity and 1 other 3
NC Scroller
You got something other then what you ordered. I guess by mistake. I have bought a lot of baltic birch in my life and never ran across that stuff. If it is working for you great. I guess is would not work well with a laser or for a wood burning project. BTW I checked the Paxton Website and all they list is regular uncoated plywood. amazingkevin and OCtoolguy
Rockytime
This stuff cuts beautifully and leaves nearly no fuzzies. Plus it takes paint beautifully. Can't use stain though. kmmcrafts
Could be a nice option for making Christmas ornaments.. Probably just cut them and no need to apply a finish?? I'd like to see the stuff in person to see better what it is.. Fish, OCtoolguy and Roberta Moreton
Norm Fengstad
I get my BB in 5X5 sheets at our local Coop Lumber yard for about the same price or if I go to the city at my favorite hardwood speciality store (Windsor Plywood) it is around 30 bucks in Canadian dollars. but the guy says it is a better grade, I am not seeing much difference in quality but who I am I to judge such matters.. Windsor also have a cabinet grade birch in 4X8 sheets that has a varnished like finish. similar to your pictures It cuts nicely but it does have some inner core voids. rash_powder
The local Menards here stocks 3/4” ply, birch I think, with a UV resistant finish already applied. It looks very much like your picture. OCtoolguy
