Calling Iggy

Iggy's part of NC took a direct hit last night.  Anyone hear from him?  The eye of the storm passed about 50 miles from me at about 5:00 AM. Lucky we were on the West side of the storm so no real damage.  Lost power for a nanosecond and have a messy yard but all in all made out just fine.

been watching the storm movement on tv  hope damages are not to extensive

@Iguanadon hasn’t checked in that I have seen. Hopefully they too weathered the storm without any real damage.

We are a couple of hours from the beach. We were fine. Not even yard debris.

Hey Gang,

Thank you so much for thinking of me... We had quite a wild night last night as we had a direct hit from Hurricane Isaias.  He decided to spin up a little extra just before landfall and hit the area hard.  We're fine, minimal damage in our area with trees down.  No damage to the house.  We lost power but had it back this morning but about 1/3 of the town still without power unfortunately.  I'm in Carolina Beach, you can see it on the right side of the eye as it came ashore.

Glad to hear you are fine with minimal damage in your area and no damage to your house and you have your power back. Hopefully they can restore for all sooner then later. Glad all those puzzles are safe as well.

Glad to hear y'all are okay and with no damage to speak of.

My mind must be playing tricks, I thought you had installed solar panels and an electric outage would not be an issue.

Hey Jim, yes, solar panels but they just supplement our power usage, not a separate power source unfortunately.  Now looking at a whole house generator as some friends here have.  With the frequency of storms picking up, just make life more tolerable.

I see, I thought the system was like most with a battery pack it keeps charged to replace power in the event of an outage

You might consider adding it, might be cheaper than a generator and fuel.

Glad your safe. Must be that wall of animal puzzles you built around your place. If the generator is natural gas that kicks on when the power goes off that would be an awesome addition. Good luck the rest of the storm season. All I have to worry about is an occasional Indiana tornado.

I live in a rural area so we have no natural gas unless you count the beef cows down the road.  My neighbor has what Woodmaster1 describes but it runs on propane.
