trinket box finish?

I just finished cutting one of Alex Fox's boxes in Walnut and Beech. I'm thinking a dip in Watco Natural. All solid pieces are Walnut. All fretwork pieces are Beech. Only the two "feet" are glued at this time.

If I dip the pieces separate, they won't want to fit when dry as they are tight anyway.

What about dipping outer box...inner box...top fretwork. When der put the inner into the outer, drop in the hinge pin, glue the top fretwork on?

Any better ideas? I haven't finished anything quite like this before. The first one was grabbed by my wife and remains unfinished BB ply.

OK...I'll try it. I didn't think the spray can would get in all the little nooks and crannies. I tried it once on a small piece and got too much in one spot...too little in the edges.

I try to spray from a foot away, and pass across it. Any other tips/tricks? I've never been a "spray can artist" LOL 🤣
