I've just taken a delivery of 100  A4 sheets of 3mm Baltic Birch.  It's amazing !!

Now I know this isn't 'exciting' for all you that can get BB at the drop of a hat, but I've never used it before and I can't wait !!

And I just had to tell someone that knows what I'm talking about as there are no scrollers near me and Tony is slightly bemused by my excitement 🤣

Kudo's, but what is story behind receiving it?

Well over the last couple of years since I started scrolling, I've heard so many people say they use 3mm BB and all I've ever had is ¼" ply.  I saw a company on the internet that not only did 3mm BB but they were in England !!  So I went on their website and spoke to one of their staff and they were very helpful so I thought ''what the heck'' I need a treat.

They had 100  A4 sheets for sale for £40 ($52.60) and £6.95 pp,($9)      That makes it 47p a sheet. (62 cents) with postage.

Not sure whether that's a good deal or not but I'm as happy as Larry. 😜

Sounds like you hit the lottery. Enough wood to keep you busy through the winter. Have fun and be sure to post pics of your creations.

That’s great, now for us Americans what size is A4, RJ

Oh dear, I'm sorry, I honestly presumed that paper sizes were universal for printers..  I've just googled it and the size is

210mm x 297mm   or  8.3 inch x 11.7 inch.

Nope, just another thing that is different around the world I am afraid. Here in the USA the most popular and traditional sizes of paper are Letter (8.5 x 11 inches), Legal (8.5 x 14 inches) and Tabloid (11 x 17 inches). Letter is the standard for most documents. Course sheets of wood usually are different from paper sizes just to confuse things even more.  Found this chart that shows comparisons of most of our standard.

Congratulations Brenda on your find and purchase.  Look forward to seeing what you do with it and how you like it.

Find it very interesting that they are selling BB the size of paper.  Typically here it is 12" x 12" or 12" x 24".

I think over here it's 'use it or lose it'. !!  All our printers are set up for A4. It's the most common size of paper that we use. You can buy it in any office suppliers by the box and it's as cheap as chips.  🤣

Thanks Melanie,  I've put aside some work I 'should' be doing just so that I can try it.  It's 'different' that for sure, but I'm quite liking it and really looking forward to 'stack' cutting as that is also something I've never tried.  🤣    Jack of all trades, master of none, that's me. !! 🙈
