Popular Post OzarkSawdust
I was so inspired with the shop being clean and organized that I cut a new piece this evening. On Steve Good's site he calls it a "Christmas Oval". I cut it, with #3 Pegas blade, from 1/4" Walnut ply with a 1/4" Maple ply backer. Finishing is Watco Light Walnut on the fretwork and Watco Natural on the backer. I may hit it with a couple coats of Lacquer tomorrow to help protect it. I was thinking it might sell well also. Did a single to see what it looked like, I think I'll stack cut a few for the winter shows...if they have them. Right now the Rio Grande Valley is getting hit hard with COVID. First of the season's shows start in November...hopefully it'll be gone by then, or at least manageable. Neither has officially cancelled yet, but I have decided that I’m not doing any shows this year. It’s just not worth the danger of it all. About 2 miles from the Rio Grande River & Mexican border. We had a house a mile from the river and lived there several years. Most of the RV parks have craft shows. I do about 8-10 shows a month. They start in November and run through mid March. I lost several hundred dollars this spring when I had the last 4-5 shows canceled because of COVID.
