Great cut on a really cool pattern! They put out some really great music. How was it to cut1/2"Oak instead of a 1/4" in something? Does it show that much more depth?  Great job!

Thank you! I do most of my cutting in hardwoods rather than plywood. Just a personal preference I guess. It's definitely slower than 1/4" plywood but it's all in what you get used to I suppose.

Great CUTS .. now .. a story about those yay-whoooo's ... I was sitting in a saloon in Juneau, Alaska - back in the late 70's .. when two of these OUTLAWS .. walked in .. they would not play for us .. and it was very late .. and everyone was having just a good enuf time .. that no one cared that they didn't play - but they bought a round for the 20 or so of us in there.  One of them .. forget which - pulls out a pistol and puts 3 rounds thru the ceiling.  My buddy Ron lived right upstairs .. he comes flying down - and wants to beat the crap out of whoever did that .. the 3 rounds went right between him and the TV set he was watching at the time.  We all pointed towards the two OUTLAWS .. which bought Ron's drinks for the rest of the night. So - the usual nightly brawl failed to happen. When I woke up the next morning (uh - afternoon - 'cause back then bars closed at 5:30am and opened again at 6:00am ) I went out to put some fishing gear in my camper shell as I was supposed to be guiding someone fishing that day - opened the shell - and out jumps a local that had decided to sleep it off in the back of my truck. I lived about 20 miles out of town - so - he had a good ways to go to get back home. I don't think Ron woke up that day. He took full advantage of having his drinks for free that evening.

But - back on track - GREAT CUTTING !!!!

Wow! Awesome story. :) Do you remember which two it was? I've seen Willie and Waylon live. Missed Johnny and honestly never was much of a Kristofferson fan. I think of him more as a great songwriter. My favorite being Sunday Morning Coming Down. Fits your story a bit. ;)

Oh .. another funny story about one of these "outlaws" ... Johnny - I think - wrote a song about this or mentioned it in a song .. later in his career ..

My Uncle was a jailer down in Mississippi - and at night - the jailer was also the cop on duty.  Jails in those days - were usually pretty much empty - except for some people that liked to close down the local "watering holes".  I think this was Tupelo, or Merridian Mississippi.

They get a call - a naked guy singing very poorly - and picking the flowers - and if nothing else - could you please just get him to quit singing? It's keeping my animals awake.

Well - Uncle didn't have to go far - he stepped outside and there was the naked guy singing his heart out .. very poorly as described - and picking the flowers that bordered the lawn leading up to the cop-shop and jail. Uncle took him in - thru him in a cell - and decided he was too naked and maybe he'd go to sleep quickly and stop that racket described as singing.

When his shift reliefs got there in the morning, he proceeded to tell them they needed to get some clothes for the soul in the cells and either book him or let him go depending on his attitude when he woke up.  So they all went back with him to see the peacefully sleeping naked gentleman. One copper says to the other coppers - "hell - that's that Johnny Cash guy. I went to see him play just last night."  He woke up a few later and was picked up, never to visit the jail again. He did not get booked, by the way. But did pay a fine that covered the cost of the clothes he was given.

You can pick flowers at the jail in Tupelo when you're naked.  But - it's against the law to sing poorly in public. hahahahahaha

Very nice cutting of one of Heldas' patterns.
I agree with you wholeheartedly about the members. I like Willy and Waylon and Johnny cash, but as for Kristofferson, I have to agree he makes a far better writer than a singer and that's coming from somebody who couldn't carry tune in a bucket :)

Merle Haggard should have been the 4th. That would have been an awesome foursome. :)
