poupster2
I've seen an add from someone selling an old Excalibur by Somerville 30" for $125. It is in working condition. I already have plenty of Dewalts Type 1 (2) that I acquired and serviced and lately Got a Brand New Seyco that I Love. Is this saw worth it or not? amazingkevin, jbrowning and OCtoolguy
dgman
That saw was made by Summerville Designs in Canada, who also designed and built the DeWALT type 1. If it is in good working order, it might be worth the $125. Keep in mind, it had been out of production for about twenty years, so there are no replacement parts available. I can’t tell by the picture, but does it have a motor? If it had a motor it might be worth it. If not, you have to factor that. dgman
I can see it now, it does have a motor. It also has an optional foot pedal to raise the top arm for easy top feeding. OCtoolguy
kmmcrafts
Probably worth it if everything is working order.. There is also one of these on Craigslist here in MI for $100 OCtoolguy

Is it just a project to restore or are you thinking of using it as a full time saw? Parts are not available from what I have heard so you will have to either make your own or spend a lot of time finding a source. For me, it's a NOT! Frank Pellow
It's a tremendous bargain for $125. I have, exactly, that saw and would not accept less than $1,000 for it. It's a great saw that I have used extensively for 16 years and I have no problems in getting the (very few) parts that I needed for it. poupster2
Well, I did it, for $120 I got the Excalibur from 1998 (with Seyco's Bill of sale) and a Hegner Multimax -2 (that needs a lot of TLC). I think I did good! OCtoolguy and jbrowning 1

I was totally surprised by the offer and I accepted it! OCtoolguy
