My next Pegas blade order will be with Dennis. It would be great to have an "In Village" go-to for our supplies. Maybe we can get some of the wood suppliers to give us a break. I know Cherokee Wood Products watches this site and has given me great prices and service. Cudos to all those businesses that support our hobby.

I also give a shout out to Denny at artcrafters and also Wooden Teddybear.. I had a special custom order for a clock that needed a specific size movement and WTB had the best price.. I had never ordered from them before so I was quite surprised that the clocks showed up in 3 days.. ordered some clocks from Klockit too on the same day.. but they took over a week.. and Klockit is just across the lake from me, LOL

I'm going to check out Denny . Been wanting to try the Pegas MG blades. I'm still dealing with Mikes Workshop, just ordered on the 2nd and received it today. And they still give free shipping. I understand Wooden Teddy Bear charges shipping? Can anyone verify this ?

Yes, they do charge shipping.. Though I do believe they are at least fair with shipping cost unlike many places where they charge a $8-10 minimum and then mail a 2 ounce item first class which only cost $3.00  :)

Something I have always considered a rip off. We will leave this for another day .

I deal mostly with Wooden Teddybear as well. It doesn't take much longer for their items to arrive in OZ. Very reasonable postage and very quick.

I agree,  Denny dealing with has been a joy.

Regarding shipping. I have been providing a hardware kit since 2013 for a Brian Law clock project that was published in an issue of SSWWC.

I sell the kit at a very fair price as my primary reason for making and selling it is so that more folks will attempt this project.

Getting back to shipping. I either include the shipping in the overall cost or charge for it. My cost includes the packing, the shafts are all individually wrapped so they don't get nicked. The package itself and then of course the postage. My out of pocket has been about $6 just to ship a kit that I charge $24 for. For me this is part of my hobby but as a business a bit of a fee for time should also be included.

The folks that supply us with blades etc. are not getting rich on this. JMO

The Wooden Teddy Bear does charge shipping on orders placed at the home address on all of the orders including blades! If you order from Mikes Workshop, which WTB owns, there is no shipping charge on blades, drill bits, anything that shows on that site and the time to receive the order is very good! I used to kid Mike about his having a direct route with the post office about the amazing time to receive the order once he received it!

Rolf, I'd like more info on that kit. Where can I find it?

The thing about Denny, if you ever go to his shop, a few things are evident, foremost of which is he is one of us.  His scrollwork is all over the place.  So not only is he a scroller, if you go to ArtCrafter store and meet him, he is the nicest guy ever, and he will give you a tour of the store, which is very very well done.  These are the kinds of people you want to keep in business.

Yep, I agree. I made a trip once to stop in and meet Denny on my way down to see one of my children who are in GA and Denny’s shop in Dayton, TN is sorta “on the way.” Was great to meet he and his wife, and to see his work and their store.

Ray my objective was not to advertise the kit that I provide but to make a point about shipping costs.

But since you asked I make the kits or this Clock. Only the metal parts except the weights.

Rolf, I knew you weren't "pushing" your kit but you mentioned it so it piqued my curiosity. You have my email so if you would send me a description of the kit I'd be appreciative. Thanks.
