Amazing work.

Curious, how may horrs per session did you work?  I know I can not concentrate on small details like that for more than one or two hours at one time.

Thanks Frank.

I find that I can only work on a single piece for about an hour.  But, if I have two or three that I am currently working upon, I can switch and stay at my saw for up to four hours.

Thanks.  Yes, it is very fragile, so fragile that it took me about half an hour to very carefully remove the glued on pattern (even though I glued it on top of shelf paper which, usually, comes off vey easily).

Yep,  that's why I glue directly to the wood. A wipe of white spirit and it floats off in one go.  Stunning piece done with great skill, I love it.

Fantastic piece of work. I can't/don't use spiral blades so I'm wondering how long it would take with regular blades. I expect you can make faster time with the spirals. Also, how big is the piece and have you any idea how many blades you went through?

Thankyou.

It would be quite difficult to cut this with what you call "regular" blades.  I expect that I could accomplish the job using #1 and #2/0 reverse tooth blades and my guess is that it would take me twice as long  since I would constantly be turning the piece.

The panel that I used is about 12 inches by 15 inches.

Small spiral blades are extremely fragile and I break a lot of them.  My guess is that I used between 20 and 25 blades on this.

I really Wish I had the Patience To. Attempt freezes intricate patterns butt alas at my age, I know myself and knows I don’t. As a result, I just look on amazed at these beautiful pieces like this that you folks craft.  I have an aunt who loves raccoons and no doubt would find this piece stunning as do I.

Might have to get some sprial blades to try

The cutting technique with spiral blades is very different and I was somewhat worried when I first tried it.  But, I am happy that I did give it a go.  I hope that you do try spiral blades and the you like them.
