Be_O_Be
I use duck brand shelf paper on the wood & 77 on the pattern paper but with the cost & time of all three I'm willing to try something new. Is there a preferred brand of labels, better or worst, than other brands?

It takes two seconds to wipe off the nozzle after each use. Also, I keep a couple of nozzles in a small jar of mineral spirits in case I need a fresh one. But since I have been wiping off the nozzle after each use, I haven’t needed to change it. I agree with dgman, I use 3M 45 only and brush a small amount of mineral spirits on the nozzle after every use, let it soak into the spray head for 5 seconds or so and replace the cap. I never had a spray problem or finishing the entire can. Speaking of 3M 45, anyone else had problems finding supply? I usually have no problem just running into my local big box and grabbing a few cans but recently I have had to search far and wide for just a few cans. Maybe more people are doing crafts being locked up at home.

Though if your work isn't too fragile you can use a heat gun to loosen it off the wood directly.. but if the wood is not super smooth I've had cases of the labels not sticking real well.. the labels I use aren't super glue sticky like the spray glues are.. but they are way less messy in my opinion.. It's not real practical to use them if you just buy a few labels at a time from the store because they are pricey that way.. I buy them from the eBay link I posted earlier but he does sell smaller quantities and you can shop around to find a decent deal.. I came up with this by accident my first time.. as I use the labels to print m shipping labels and one day the printer had labels in it instead of regular paper.. been using them whenever possible ever since then, LOL.. I would buy a very small quantity first to see if you like them.. unless you have a use for them anyway.. I use 3M 77 spray adhesive on the pattern, no tape underneath. As Brenda mentioned above, I spray mineral spirits on the cut pattern. It will lift right off. Then wipe off the mineral spirits and you’re good to go. If you don’t want to use mineral spirits, then you can heat the pattern with a heat gun or a hair dryer. The heat will loosen the adhesive and the used pattern will lift right off. I cover my wood with the sticky back shelf liner cut to size, then apply the pattern over it with the 3M 77 adhesive. Just make sure you wipe off any fine dust with a tack rag before applying shelf liner. Works for me. I usually blow the dust off with compressed air or a blower. I like 3M Painters tape because there has to be a lot of dust to make it not stick. Gonzo
I also use 3M77. Seems like the can lasts forever. I put the patten in an open box and spray the backside of pattern. When finished spraying, I take nozzle off and put it small jar. I do not recall ever having an issue with the pattern lifting.

This is what I have been using. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Trimaco-SuperTuff-18-in-x-36-in-Tack-Cloth-6-Pack-10506/205754754 I also vacuum my wood if it has a lot of saw dust before I use the tack cloth. I never blow the saw dust off. It's just going to land somewhere else and maybe back on my project. I use this little mini vac attachments for my 5 gal shop vac. I also use it to vacuum off my scroll saw. Gets into the tight spaces. Fits 1 1/4 inch vacs. Works great. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Think-Crucial-32-mm-Mini-Micro-Tool-Attachment-Set-Fits-All-Vacuum-Cleaners-Including-Hoover-Eureka-Kenmore-and-Bissell-32MM-Mini-Micro-Tool/305847838?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&mtc=Shopping-VF-F_D29A-G-D29A-29_16_FLOORCARE-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA-NA-NA-MinorAppl&cm_mmc=Shopping-VF-F_D29A-G-D29A-29_16_FLOORCARE-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA-NA-NA-MinorAppl-71700000032403373-58700003840533684-92700030729181853&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzbv7BRDIARIsAM-A6-1wmFRlMsWM_neZ-c-YKT_gByOAbEoYJKy3H3UWV7riA8fnU6h5WLgaAma4EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Edited September 26, 2020 by ben2008
