Nice! Is that Walnut?

Yeah .. it's a burl walnut I get locally . about 15 bucks a piece .. Most pieces are about 4-6 inches thick and vary in length and width. I have gotten a bunch of them that area about 10 inches wide and 12 inches or so long. I resaw them as I need 'em. Same thing - and - same piece that the guitar/pics were made out of. So .. I get a lot out of each piece.

Happy to share if anyone wants some .. and just pays the shipping ..

Cool.  My local Rockler always has some pieces of crotch Walnut.  I have bought a few pieces in the past.   Send me a pic of what you have, I may be interested in a piece.

Wow that turned out nice!! your first clock is done is if you've been making them for 30 years.. Like the wood.. is seems to show up the cutouts well.. I've not had great luck with dark colored wood because the cutouts don't seem to show as good..

Working on that Challenger now .. have the base done in walnut .. scored a BEAUTIFUL piece of MAPLE that I will be using for the car/clock .. can't wait.
