Foxfold
Now some of you may remember my run in with CA glue, so it's not my favourite and to be honest I'm a little scared of the stuff. However, at times it is very useful. I use the tiny bottles pictured below but find that the teeny nozzle gets clogged up with dry glue quite badly and I'm never going to take the top off completely ever again so I'm asking to see if anyone knows how to prevent this. I've tried poking it with a saw blade but even that doesn't seem to work very well plus I find I have to put the bottle in a small vice in order to hold it still while I poke. Norm Fengstad
I often use ca glue to stack cut, I over size the boards a bit then putting a drop on each corners and on the edge clamp for a few minutes and it is good to go. It is easy to separate with a slim drywall scraper. OCtoolguy and amazingkevin
Bill WIlson
I use this type of CA glue. It's more expensive, but the cap seems to do a good job of preventing the tip from clogging. I've never had an issue with that. Never had a bottle dry out on me either. Foxfold, OCtoolguy and Be_O_Be 2
Rockytime
I've used ca for years. Before replacing the cap I give the bottle bottom a very sharp rapp on the bench to clear the tip, then replace the cap. Foxfold
Thank you all, I'll take all your comments on board. As I say, I don't use it often, 2yrs on and I still have the scars from this stuff. OCtoolguy
jollyred
When my bottle of ca has the end closed with dried glue, I take a knife and pop off the plug. Cut from the bottom of the plug on the side of the nozzle and cut towards the end of the nozzle. Might have to take a couple of cuts, but it will pop out the plug in the nozzle. However, I'll not try cutting if you don't mind, knowing my luck I'll end up on crutches again . amazingkevin, OCtoolguy and Gene Howe 1

merlin
Brenda as mentioned tap the bottom on the bench, never use the tip to spread the glue and my favorite (over years of glue clogging of any sort) Always stand the bottle/tube upright when not in use.... I even made a holder to sit the glue tubes in..Sorry no pics.... OCtoolguy and Foxfold 1

I went looking and also found their Perfect Pen which is absolutely perfect for me. No drips, no clogging and comes out of a very fine point. amazingkevin and OCtoolguy
Rolf
I use a fair amount of it , thin, medium and thick. It is a must have for wood turners. It is great as a pen finish and I recently finished a shift knob for my car. I do threat it with respect, not only the glue aspect but also the fumes are not healthy. When I am done with my CA glue I just squeeze the bottle while upright into a paper towel to make sure there is no residue in the nozzle. I also have a pin vise with a tiny drill bit to open it if need be. I've been on the 'other' end of this glue and it's not pleasant. OCtoolguy, amazingkevin and John B 1

Ctutor
I always have a bottle of acetone around when using CA. It is a quick solvent and will undo skin stick togethers if necessary OCtoolguy
ike
the only place that i use this glue is when I tied fishing fly's , now that i am older I buy all my flyes. I put a drop on all the knots , It makes it harder for a fish to tear up a fly. besides that my wife used to bitch about all the feathers. The reaction was heat and smoke that welded the sock to my foot. Not sure that, even if I had it, acetone would have made a difference .
