Popular Post heppnerguy
I read the post about how to do away with fuzzies and I believe I have stumbled upon a way not have them in the first place, hence no torches, files or other devices to get rid of what is no longer a problem. What I found out, at least for BB Ply, is using the right blade and the fuzzies just did not happen. I have recently switched to Pegas #3R mg and here is a photo of my project just after cutting it with NO sanding or touch up of any kind. I see no fuzzies in it. Take a look and see for yourself. comments welcome Dick heppnerguy FrankEV, Kris Martinson, amazingkevin and 11 others
kmmcrafts
Your project looks great.. I never had any issues with fuzzies once I switched to FD-UR blades way back when... also now using the Pegas MG blades and no fuzzies... BUT... still get them with spiral blades.. But also don't use spirals too often.. heppnerguy, scrollingforsanity, amazingkevin and 1 other

meflick
Nice work Dick. For those interested in trying the Pegas blades (or those who need to restock ) our fellow forum member, Denny, sells the Pegas blades (and saws and new larger saw top). He offers great prices on the blades and shipping and ships very quickly. I have ordered from Denny and always been happy with the service and agree, the Pegas blades are good. You can find his store here: https://www.artcraftersonline.com/shop OzarkSawdust, heppnerguy, John B and 2 others 4

I hope others use Denny if they decide to give the Pegas blades a try. At first I found them to be too sharp and aggressive but after trying them a couple of times, they are my 'go to ' blades. The one I used in this post, (#3R mg), is easy to keep on the line, does not leave the fuzzies to worry about and I can use it on any thickness of wood with reliability. I really enjoy these blades a lot. Thank for posting the link, as it may help others as well Dick heppneerguy jbrowning and meflick
NC Scroller
Using the correct type and size blades for the wood you use makes a big difference. Blades have a specific purpose and are not one size/type fits all. John B, jbrowning and meflick
Norm Fengstad
The Ultra reverse and Pegas MG #3 I found to be mostly fuzzy clean until they start getting dull, I used MD#1 the other day on ornaments and results as good. heppnerguy

I have found for what I am doing now, the #3R MG has worked for 1/4 in BB Ply as well as 3/4 woods for intarsia. Then with ultra small fret, one does need to use a spiral sometimes. cashew
Modified geometry is pretty much all I use -- Les sent me some Pike blades I haven't had a chance to try out yet but soon probably -- the #1 mg seems to be my go to blade lately for everything through 3/4 heppnerguy

I know what you are saying about 'one blade does not fit all', but for the type of scrolling I do, it works without any problems for me. I am working on another pattern that is a quite detailed fret piece, so I went with the #1R Pegas where I would have used a spiral blade before. I did it because I did not want to deal with the fuzzies that I know I will get with the spiral. So far it is working perfectly and I have had no problems so far. That of course, does not mean I might have wished otherwise, should I make a big mistake somewhere, but so far so good and I am happy that I choose that blade instead of the spiral blade. Denny Knappen
Very good topic. I agree with Scott, no one blade fits all projects. My go to blade is the Pegas MGT, but I also use Skip and Spiral based on the project. For example, I am working on a Steve Good veteran project with veining. I did the veining with #5 Spiral for a wider kerf. heppnerguy

I just finishes a project and I used a #1 Pegas MGT as well as a #2/0 spiral on it. It is not that I use only one blade all the time, but for most patterns, I turn to the #3 or #1 Pegas. Dick heppnerguy Dick we all have our "go to blades" but many beginners especially think that one size or type blade is good for all things. Scroll saw projects comes in all types and varieties and not all blades work well for everything.
