meflick
Well technically, I believe the cut is Linus waiting in the pumpkin patch at Halloween for The Great Pumpkin rather than Charlie Brown himself. Awesome work on him Charlie and yes, as you can see, I grew up with Charlie Brown and the gang both in the weekly comics as well as their specials for the holidays. flarud and Jim McDonald

I noticed he was mistaken for Charlie Brown. Linus is one of my all time favorites. I gave this one away on facebook to the first person who could tell me from their own memory, without Googling in other words, what his last name is. Do you know? Another good trivia question is, "Where was Snoopy born?" As a kid I used to buy books, the size of paperbacks that were full of old Charlie Brown comic strips and read them with a flashlight in bed. meflick
I’m afraid I did not recall either Linus and Lucy’s last name nor where Snoopy was born. I did do a google search and refreshed my memory though and also relearned that Snoopy had at least 7 siblings most of who, appeared at Various times with Spike having the most appearances. when I was little, I had one of those pull around dogs that I named Snoopy and then we also had a dog that looked just like Snoopy and we named him Snoopy as well. Not that they're great entertainment, just old friends. lawson56

Lawson and Charlie - not sure if you have seen or heard this yet but I have some bad news. I just saw it in a newspaper article. It seems that the Charlie Brown specials will NOT be on network television this year. According to what I read, they will only be available on the Apple TV+ online Service! Can’t believe they would do that. So sad. The article says “began streaming Monday for the digital platform's subscribers. It will be streamed free Oct. 30-Nov. 1.” so it seems non-subscribers can stream it “free” on those limited dates (same for the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials later in the year, limited dates for “free).” But stIll, not everyone has online access for streaming video or good service for streaming. It does also show up on Amazon Prime Video as available there too at this moment. Although the article(s) I read said it was “exclusive” to Apple TV+ So that might be changing, “A rep for Apple TV+ confirmed to USA Today that the "Charlie Brown" holiday specials — including "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” — are now exclusive to the streaming site (where they'll be available to stream this year for free during brief windows).” Here’s link to one article (but found several in my attempt to verify it was true before sharing): https://www.forbes.com/sites/tonifitzgerald/2020/10/21/why-you-cant-watch-its-the-great-pumpkin-charlie-brown-on-abc-this-year/#54e4613a5fb5 And also herehttps://www.freep.com/story/entertainment/television/2020/10/20/its-great-pumpkin-charlie-brown-on-tv-cbs-apple-tv-plus/5992933002/ Edited October 22, 2020 by meflick Fixing typos (but may have missed some 😉) Charlie E

I'm sure the almighty dollar is behind it. I'm reading a book about Fred Rogers and while I knew he was a good man, it's amazing how he refused to have his program used to make money off of children in any way. I had never noticed there were no Daniel Tiger or King Friday dolls for sale when I was a kid. Hard to find a successful person with that character nowadays.
