Popular Post Foxfold
I found a pattern of a Dodge Challenger in the library, by @grampa, I cut it on an A3 piece (16½" x 11½") of 3mm ply. I must admit that A3, fit's beautifully on my saw but alas my eyesight and arms are not long enough to cope very well when I have the 'long' part between me and the blade. So I think I'll stick to my A4 wood from now on. A question if I may ? I wouldn't know one car from another, so do you think this is cut well enough to be given to someone who knows a lot about cars ? I intend to frame it with the same frame I used on the 'Bird on a Tap' so would like to have some honest opinions before I go ahead with it. John B
Very nice Brenda, and I am sure that any petrol head would adore it. I know what you mean by "Short arm syndrome" or maybe in my case it's "Big Belly", because it always gets in the way when cutting large pieces, hence another reason I don't sit Foxfold and jollyred 1
meflick
I think you did a great job on it Brenda. Anyone who loves those cars would for sure love it. I have encountered issues like that you did, trying to figure out how to cut something when it’s hard to reach it. FrankEV
Very well done. Any car guy will know what it is. However I have seen some cuts like this have the cars brand and model cut into the background somewhere. Helps with presentation when hung where non car guys might see it. Quick question. What is the standard photo frame sizes over there? Over here standard photo sizes are 8"X10" (20.32x25.40) and 11"x14" (23.94x35.56). When I can, I will try to size my panels to suit the standard frame unless the pattern will not allow it. I will often enlarge or reduce the pattern as needed to suit a standard Photo size. An 11"X14" is not that difficut to reach while cutting. I don't use paper sizes like our Letter (8 1/2 x11) or Tabloid (11X17) for portraits, as they are not quite as proportionaly appealing. amazingkevin and Foxfold 1

My SIL will know exactly what car it is, he has a passion for them. !! I just wanted to ask the 'more experienced scrollers' if it was up to par for a car fanatic, as I don't have the first clue and didn't want to give him something that wasn't good enough. It's for his 'office' in the garden. I used the A3 sheet of wood because it's the biggest I have and I'll make an oak frame for it. It's just the right size to fit the space he has 'spare' over his desk. Our 'standard' photo frame sizes are much the same as yours by the look of it. RabidAlien
Looks great to me! I'm not a car guy, but I've been outside enough in the last ten years to recognize one. Foxfold
Rockytime
I'm not much of a car buff but I'd hang it up. you've cut that very well. If I were a real car buff I'd be driving a Challenger. Love Chrysler products. Foxfold

wombatie
Terrific work Brenda. Your friend will love it. I too have short arms and every time I do an A3 I say that it's the last but it never is. Marg Foxfold and John B 1
