By the time I get it to Canada, it's close to 300$. My wife says no lol

Didn't think about you being in Canada, that's too bad.. Isn't BearWoods in Canada? for some reason I thought they was in Canada.. Probably still not any cheaper, just a thought.. Honestly these saws have the table just bolted to the frame.. seems like it'd be quite easy to make a larger one.. Not sure how strong plexiglass or some acrylic would be.. I sometimes wish my table was clear so I could see to put the blade in the lower clamp a little better.. LOL.. Though I'm sure it'd be scratched so much after a few days you still wouldn't see it, LOL

Anyway i do recall the table being around $130ish US and they aren't all that light to ship..

Bearwood is not cheap. I was going to buy a pegas at the start of covid because I couldn't get a seyco shipped. It would have been 250$ more then my Excelsior.

Well the issue isn't bearwood prices.. Its Pegas prices, I believe Pegas sets the price and the dealers have to sell at that price per the contract rules.. Shipping cost may differ from one seller to another.. or dealers may put a cut on their portion of the profit to pass the savings onto the buyer.. But at the end of the day Pegas set the price.. They are a bit of an upgrade from the King and Excelsior saws.. Bigger bearing in the pivot arm, blade clamps, and other upgrades to areas that was weak points that was issues with the tried and true Excalibur type saws.. So yes.. I would think a better made saw would be a bit more money. Not saying a Excelsior isn't a good saw.. just saying that Pegas is a upgrade to an already good saw.. and the price would / should reflect that.. I would think..

I too didn't realize you were in Canada. Oops! Anyway, I sort of like that idea that Kevin has regarding the use of lexan or acrylic. I have some 1/4" plexi that might also work. I'm going to give it a try and see how flat it is. I also like the idea of being able to see through it. That might be a great accessory for the industry to consider. Or even for a stock table. It could be made a bit thicker if needed.

If the border wasn't closed I would picked it up alot cheaper. I'm 7 hour drive to pick up

Really lets see 7hrs one way for my Jeep being a bit lead footed ~20mpg at 60mph not knowing your roads. Round trip $80+ and then unless you turn right round you have lodging , and of course wear and tear on your vehicle. I don't now an Email to Denny and having it dropped at my door step sounds pretty good to me. 😉

The bonus is that I get to visit some friends

I would think if your only issue with the Excelsior is the table size... making a table could be done a lot cheaper than buying one or even buying a new saw..  Also paying for a Pegas table is a cheaper option than the new saw too.. I like the table tilt mechanism on the Excelsior way better than the Seyco's system. Also don't care for the Seyco table top being than magnetic thing on it.. But that is just me..

But that said some people just want a new toy.. I understand that.. I didn't need a new Hawk a couple years ago when I ordered a new one.. as I had two very nice ones already.. Most thought I should cancel out my order on it as they was having issues with a machine to make the Hawk and it was back ordered for 4 months.. I didn't care I didn't need it and I was willing to wait it out for the saw I had my heart set on buying.. I love the saw and glad I bought it and waited to take delivery of it.
