Jim McDonald
Just looking at a pallet out back deciding whether to harvest the wood and found this interesting knot. Would have loved to see that branch. Nail head indicates sizing. barb.j.enders, ChelCass, WayneMahler and 4 others
Rockytime
Be great to see something created that would feature that knot. Really cool. OCtoolguy and WayneMahler
WayneMahler
Some epoxy for the crack and use it as a feature for a project. I'm sure we won't see another one those stars like that. Totally cool, thanks for sharing. OCtoolguy
OCtoolguy
I like that suggestion. Try to use it in some way that the "star" becomes part of the message of whatever you make. A "Star of Bethlehem" ornament or something like that. Great piece of wood.
OCtoolguy
This is the most unique piece of wood that I have ever seen. I'd love to have been the person who found it. I'd have made something frameable out of it. Or resawn it to have more than one piece. Edited November 6, 2020 by octoolguy I had to add this! dgman and Jim McDonald

See https://www.1001pallets.com/pallet-safety/ Verify that your pallet is safe before cutting or burning the wood. OCtoolguy

Yes, I see it. But, to me, it'll always be a goofy ostrich head.
