scrollerpete
My Ex developed a bad back and forth movement. I tried to adjust it by first make sure that the arm is parallel to the table (out 1/8”) and then I turned the motor clockwise until I cannot turn it anymore to the wire from the motor to the scrollsaw is tight against the saw. It was the best for back and forth movement but still not enough. Do I have to start counterclockwise from as far as I can or is there other remedy. The saw is closed to 10 years old? OCtoolguy
You may have gone too far in the wrong direction. What I did was to mark the holes where I started. Then I removed the 3 bolts and moved the motor in each direction until I got what I thought was going to be the optimum. I never got it all out but it is as close as it could be. I know what you mean about the power cord. That is what made me try what I finally did.
hotshot
You did good by leveling your arm first. What I do, is remove the three bolts, and turn the speed control all the way down, then put something behind the blade to gauge travel. Then I just run the saw while I rotate the motor back and forth until I find the sweet spot. Going too far either direction will result in excessive blade travel.
