Hegner user question for Hegner owners

HI everyone,

I may have asked this a long time ago, but now I am starting to scroll again to make things for the Holidays. Question I have is how do you tell the lower blade holder sizes? I have some and they are not marked. I use the Pegas 2.0 blades mostly because I work with 1/8 BB plywood. What holder number would work best with that blade?

Thanks for the help

Bill

I use the smallest one they have for every blade. I never use a blade larger than a 7.

I puzzled through this business of Hegner clamp sizes just today so I figured I would throw in on this conversation.

I have the small size and the medium size and to my eye they look identical (I don't see all that well though LOL).

I can clamp a #9 FD-UR blade in the small clamp (which surprised me) so I think small size is pretty much "medium" in my book (lol).

What I found as a way to positively identify which is which was that on the "medium" clamp I was able to slide a #9 FD blade in from the back side (from the circle end where the slot is narrowest).  This wasn't possible when I tried it on the small clamp.   Purely an academic test since no one would ever try to put a blade in like that.

I etched an "M" on the medium clamps and put them in storage.  I don't expect to need them very often.

This is what Advance Machinery site"

How do you easily identify which clamp is which?  Small and large slot clamps both have a smooth top, but are easy to differentiate since the large slot is twice the size of the small one.  The medium slot clamp has a dimple in its top so you can easily tell it apart from the others.  Also, all separately ordered clamp pairs are supplied in individual bags identifying their size.
