Popular Post FrankEV
In a post Remembrance Day "Wreath" by Frank Pellow I made the following comment: "Also a nice idea to hang a seasonal welcome sign. I have the "Happy Fall Y'all" hanging right now, just need to find a few patterns for the other seasons...snow is not quite appropriate here in Florida." I did some searching and could not find an appropriate pattern for Winter in Florida so I made this pattern. Words and trees cut from 1/4" Maple solid core Plywood and affixed to a 1/2" sanded plywood backer painted Oaisis Blue. Trees painted with acrylic craft paints. Plaque mde weather proof with multiple coats of spray clear gloss polyurethane. Come the Winter solstice I'll swap my "Happy Fall y'all" plaque for this "Welcome to Our Winter Wonderland" plaque. I've got some time to find and cut some appropriate patterns for Spring and Summer in Florida plaques. . courtym74, Woodrush, new2woodwrk and 12 others

Frank Pellow
That seems very appropriate for where you are Frank. Well done! I don't know much about Florida, but aren't all the seasons kind of the same? Edited November 9, 2020 by Frank Pellow FrankEV

amazingkevin
I'd love to see a horizon line in the picture to kind of give depth. I'd like to make that one !!! Most of the Winter Wonderland patterns I found had snow flakes and pine trees, which was not very appropriate for a Florida welcoming sign. Anyone who might like to have the pattern just has to ask. I put it together in Inkscape. Anything can replace the Palm trees.

spirithorse
Well done, Frank! Very pretty pattern and project. I hate to mention it but, you have misspelled Welcome. Only one letter 'L'. God Bless! Spirithorse amazingkevin

heppnerguy
I like your design here.. What is the font you used here? I love it but do not have it on my computer. We have the same winter difference here in Southern Arizona as it is going to be back up to 90 this week. Has been in the 60's and mid 70's following our record 100 plus days this year. Thanks for posting Dick heppnerguy FrankEV

Dick, Not sure where I got them from but it is not typeable font. It is a series of individual SGV files (numerals and Upper/Lower case letters called Handwritten. It is nice because you can place the letters where you want them and they are editable in Inkscape. For example I had to stretch the "dot" in the"i" so it was not an island.. Here is a zip file: Handwritten.zip Enjoy. Show us your creation.

Wow, that sounds like a lot o work you went to, Frank, and you did it splendidly! Too bad that isn't a typeable font just to make it easier. Anyway, as I said, you certainly used it extremely well!
