What do I want for Christmas?

Everyone's been asking what I want for Christmas and my answers been the same to all of them, I don't know.........Well I do now, a new drill press, because mine died today, big time, luckily we have a bigger one that I can use I just need a step so that I can see where I'm drilling.

All you have to do is ask, and Santa will bring it. At least that was what I was told

Be sure to ask for one that holds the smallest drill you ever use, wiht a deep throat. mine is a 10 inch and some times I have to use a plung router.

I would like larger planer. My wife ask me when she bought a jointer if that was the last tool I needed. Of course I said yes. Since the jointer I have gotten a router table and lift, a new scrollsaw, 2nd 14" bandsaw, lathe and a grinder so I stretched the truth a little bit.

It's too bad that first you don't live close to me and second, you weren't in need a month ago. I bought a larger drill press and sold my small one.

She should have known by now that that was a silly question. No crafts-person will ever have enough tools.

It's a Reeves drive mate.
When I got it there wasn't any electronic ones that kept torque at low speeds unless you gave them your 1st born in exchange . Actually sometimes I think it wouldn't have been such a bad deal

I only need a small one, that sits on the bench, we have two large ones, but like I said I need a box to stand on to use them, (Bit short in the leg department ).  We will go out the weekend and see what's available.

JohnB the mechanical Reves drive machines are not all that cheap either.

I have a Porter cable 10" and it will handle a 1.2 Mm reill bit.

@Rolf You are correct mate, but at the time i was a better deal and it was available in Kalgoorlie, which makes it a winner as otherwise a hundred plus bucks for transportation would of been added.
And I was totally sick of changing belts to change speeds.

John I did a fair amount of metal work this year and burned up a couple of bits because I was too LAZY to change the belt.
