Ran into a Not like situation last Order for Baltic birch Ply.  Not Good Quality.

Sloan was my go to but last year they closed up shop.  SO.......  I searched and

did settle for Ebay....  Did purchase 1/4 and 1/8 BB.  Not Quality at all.  EXCEPTABLE

with Good Sanding and Good Finishing, but not like the Ole times with Sloan.  Now....

The Question....  Where does Most of you buy your Ply/Wood?  Reasonable price

and Good Service....   Thanks for letting me vent a lil...............................Danny

P.S. Not want to mention who on Ebay....

Out here in the West, I use Cherokee Wood Products. Fantastic prices and service. If you want to chat with someone, call Chris at their place of business. He maintains their website/online business. Go to their website and click on "woodworking supplies" and you'll find that they have a section just for scrollers. I've had great success with them. They try very hard to keep the cost of shipping down too.

Interesting topic, as I myself have been considering ordering some online.. though I will most likely go support the local guys I always go to.. this time round I need some but really don't have time for the drive there.. a trip usually cost me a half day and I normally stock up well in Sept.. before I get busy.. Due to the virus and my idiot brain.. The virus kept me from going somewhat... and my idiot brain thought the 8 sheets I had on hand would be enough to get me through the holidays with my ornaments.. I'm now down to 1/2 a sheet.. Not going to make it another couple weeks.. and running out of ornaments.. so I'll use up what I have in the next week or so.. So far I've found that with shipping etc.. I'm paying double or triple what I normally pay.... Making time for the trip might have to be in order.. 🙂 But I'm going to check these above mentioned places.. One thing is.. these are already broke down in sizes from the full sheet that I typically have to spend the other half of my day doing, LOL I usually buy 20    5 x 5 sheets at a time..

Ouch, So the sites listed I looked at here so far Cherokee is the best deal.. $44 for 24 square foot.. free shipping.. Ooch was sold out of all 1/8" and the woodworkerssource was $41 for 24 square foot but shipping was another $20.. I realize the shipping is costing money.. and I suppose I'd have a days worth of travel and cutting the sheets up into the blanks.. But I get 25 square foot for $12 at my local lumber supplier.. so even the $44 is sticker shock to me.. I think I'm going to give them a try though as at the moment I'm way too busy to try to save a few $$ LOL. In the end it's really not a bad deal considering I have to take time to cut up the blanks.. etc.. wear on saw blades and machines too.. It's probably costing them around $15 to ship.. that's what kills the total price point.. Oh well it's only money. Hope they have a lot of stock.. might be out by the time I'm done, LOL

I have not purchased Baltic Birch from Cherokee yet but I have purchased some of there other woods and have never been disappointed...Next time I need BB I am going to try theirs.. I purchased some from Windsor Plywood the other day, and am ashamed of myself for buying it.. pure junk, but I was out, we are going back into lockdown, and I was afraid I would not be able to get any for sometime...

Was just going to ask if anyone has heard from you.. haven't seen you posting in a really long time... Now I know what you've been up to... sorting pure junk plywood looking for that one good piece all this time... 😂 Good to see you posting again.. I ordered some from Cherokee this morning,  part of the reason was we have gone on lockdown again and I didn't know if I'd make it until the lockdown is lifted..

Danny a quick web search found Madison Lumber in Huntsville and according to their website they sell Russian birch (same as baltic birch) in 5x5 sheets.  While their website says they are wholesale they should be able to give you a name of a retailer or a local business that buys from them.

I ordered some last week ( Thursday ) from Cherokee and it came in the mail today.. I haven't open the box up yet but they seem to be prompt on shipping... Hopefully it's good wood and also hope it didn't get wet.. Mail lady left the box out on the porch with this snow / rain mix we are getting.. Thankfully I am home most times so if they do this it's not usually out in the weather too long.. I never understood why this particular mail lady ( she's a substitute ) always leave my mail on the porch in the rain etc.. when another 20ft. is a covered porch ( lean to ) attached to my shop..

Anyway, I'll open it up later and check it out.. I was on a mission to eat lunch so I just picked it up out of the weather and put the box in my shop..

You answered your own question there Kevin. You said "it's just another 20 feet". That would mean she would have to go 40 feet extra and she ain't getting paid to do that.
