looking for a new dog?

This project was done on a new wood for me from Uruguay called Red Grandis,  It was nice to work with.  This is the natural color, a light reddish tone.

Thanks for all the nice comments.  For clarification, this entire project is scrolled and carved from one thick board including the frame.

That is even more amazing and mystifying to me. Now I really do not understand how you accomplished this piece, but then I do not understand a lot of how people can do certain things they do. It is truly and interesting accomplishment. Wish I lived close enough to you to see with my own eyes how this was done.

Hello Dick:  You always are so complimentary with your comments about my work and I certainly do appreciate your interest.  It is always great to receive kudos from someone who has so much more experience than you do.  If you lived closer, I would welcome a visit from you.  One of the Wildlife Photographers whose photos I have frequently used for scroll projects lives in Gold Canyon, AZ.  I don't know if you are close to there.   Dick

The dogs are terrific. I wish I could get as good as you are. Is the collie pattern available? I love collies and have had some. The idea for the frame is very neat.

I agree with all comment above, that is beautiful wood.  Sorta reminds me of beech, which I love to work with.  This wood you used looks like you could glue up a panel and not see a seam.  I really cannot get my head around how you do you beautiful pieces.
