Oh yae, Oak can be hard cutting. What size blade did you use. Try some in cedar. They really look good with a few coats of poly on them. It brings out the cedar plus it's a little easier to cut.

I used a FDUR#7. I'd like to make one from cedar. I think I've got some 3/4 I could glue up.  I'm using the oak because it's all I had that was big enough, plus hopefully tough enough to last many Christmases. :)
