red river
Hi ya'll....Not much of a talker(typer). I am relatively new to scroll sawing and my name is Forrest. This is one heck of a website and I have picked up many tips and tricks by reading past entries into the General scroll sawing forums....Thanks for that. I was wondering if any of ya'll have done any Dearing patterns and do you use spiral blades exclusively....Thanks....Forrest
Dan
Well ome to The Village. I've cut several of charles' patterns and used a flat blade for 95% of the cuts. I only use spirals for the parts that I can't get to with flat blades. stoney and John B

red river
Thanx for the replies...I just bought some FD spirals and trying to figure out on what kinds of patterns to use them on.Thinking of trying a portrait and am figuring that might be a place where they would be used. Correct?

Correct? I've done no Charles Dearing patterns, but I make my own, sometimes from his inspiration. I have done 50+ portraits and I use Pegas 2/0 spirals exclusively. Once you get used to spirals, they allow so much versatility. stoney
Denny Knappen
Like Kris I have not done any of Charles Dearing patterns, but I have done many portrait patterns. I use Pegas #2/0 and #0 Spiral blades. stoney
