Outdoor project

I have an order for an outdoor sign of a chicken for their chicken coop. My first thought is use pressure treated plywood but then that will likely have holes in the layers that won't be best. Other option I can think of is using regular baltic birch plywood with an exterior primer paint applied. Have others done outside signs?  What materials were used?

Thanks in advance.

Cedar is a good outdoor material. They use that for fences and it is easily available in big box stores. It is on the softer type of woods but you might give it a look see.

Cedar would be a good option. Plan to paint the project either way. Just need to figure out where I could find some cedar plywood.

I am not sure about wood supplies on the east coast but it is very common in Lowes and Home Depoe, here in the western states and all lumber stores

I suggest solid wood if you plan to paint it. My experience is if any moisture gets into the plies of the plywood it will delaminate. You could use poplar, but cedar or redwood are also great choices. Like you said, a good primer and paint will be sufficient.

I am not sure if they make Cedar plywood. I am sure there are also other kinds of good outdoor wood you might choose. I just am  not very knowledgeable about wood.

I bought some cedar ply but it had a foam core and only cedar on one side. Easy to cut but I don't care much for it as a ply.
