ben2008
I can no longer get around and I gave up driving so I have been buying my lumber online for a few years now. I have been buying from various places for the last few years. Ocooch, Rare Woods, eBay, Woodworkers Source and a few others. Just wondering where others buy their wood and are you satisfied with the prices, quality and shipping. I personally like Ocooch as I can get sizes from 1/16" to 3/4" and they usually have a nice selection of domestics and imported wood. Of course you pay for that convenience. Their shipping seems high. OCtoolguy, Ken Lotts and OzarkSawdust
OzarkSawdust
I use Ocooch also. Always what I need and super fast shipping. Most times I can order by Tuesday and have it delivered Friday! I tried Heritage one time last summer, I ordered on the 7th...my card was charged on the 20th...and it was another 10days or so before delivery! the order was for 2 pieces of Poplar. Not impressed. I haven't tried others though. I hear Cherokee is good. OCtoolguy

I made a mistake in ordering and they fixed it for me a few days later with free shipping. Really friendly folks. I feel sort of responsible for them being mentioned here. I really do like them for my wood purchases and Chris goes the extra mile to keep his customers happy. ben2008
OzarkSawdust
I looked back and saw that I did try Cherokee last October. They were quick and nice wood! They, along with Ocooch get a thumbs up from me! OCtoolguy and ben2008 1
Scrappile
I shop Cherokee first and if I need a specie they do not carry I use Ocooch. And yes,,,, I learned about Cherokee from @octoolguy, and I thank him for it!! OCtoolguy and ben2008 1
kmmcrafts
I also learned about Cherokee from Ray, I ordered a couple smaller batches of BBply.. They was quick to deliver.. but only sent half my order. Then I got slammed with orders and forgot to send them a message about it, When I went to send them a message there was a message from them saying they forgot and had messed up my order but it was on the way.. So they get a thumbs up from me as well.. Actually need more ply and torn between ordering from them and having mostly cut to the size I need already or buy local and have to cut up the full sheets.. was really nice not having to break down the full sheets.. But that luxury comes with double the cost.... then there is the cost of gas and the couple hours round trip to go to the local place.. LarryEA
Good list and education about wood suppliers. I may try Cherokee on my first order. OCtoolguy
Woodmaster1
I am glad I don't need to mail order. It's nice to be able to pick watch you need. My friend wanted to buy some wood and I noticed the wood went up almost a dollar a board foot since I purchased some in December. It's only a 20 minute drive but I am going to check my other sources to see if it's universal price increase for my local places. My woodworking club shop supermarket. I bought 300 bdf from Johnsons the week between Christmas and New Years.. was the same price as always.. maybe the prices jumped with the new year? Hope not.. I need more lumber.. My brother just called me yesterday and said he has been cutting Walnut and the grade inspectors rejected several pieces.. when he says that it means come get it out of his way.. and a few boards to him is 100 + bdf, LOL.. Next week I'm picking up my score, LOL Unfortunately I have to sticker it and wait a year or so before using it.. Man I hate that and running out of room to sticker this stuff.. The rafters is stuff full in both my shops.. Finally started using the Cherry and Maple he gave me 1.5 years ago.. Hopefully soon I won't need to buy any lumber... Now if I can talk him into making BBply OCtoolguy and barb.j.enders

Each and every board is listed. They don’t offer scroll saw ready boards, but if you are looking for exotic woods, this is the place to shop! ChelCass
Hi Neighbor, I used to live in S.E. Michigan, Trenton to be exact, now in Central Michigan. I know you don't drive but you might want to check out LL Johnson Lumber in Charlotte, Mi. They have some beautiful wood. They do have curbside pickup so maybe you can subscribe to their catalog www.theworkbench.com and then have someone drive you there. I have bought wood from them and always been very satisfied with it . Prices are reasonable.
Sparkey
Check out Keim Lumber in Ohio. They have a lot of specialty items also. I like to go up and look around because you always see a lot more in person than online. The place is huge.

I actually was hired for a job there but I declined as the job was for every FRI,SAT,SUN, MON... I wanted to take it but would never see my family so I declined. Plus.. the pay was less than I make just playing around in my shop.. I mainly was wanting the insurance benefits though so I didn't have to buy my own.. Anyway Yes, They'll work with you and do curbside pick-up.. They also have a store in Indiana but I think that one is farther away and it's more on the western side of IN..
