nrscroller Posted January 31, 2021 Report Posted January 31, 2021 Hi, I was just watching a news program from twin cities and they had this flash across bottom of screen about Highway one in California near Boig Sur that washed out on Thursday during heavy storms. Type in big sur collapse on you tube and see the damage. My parents retired out there many years ago and I have been on that road a couple times and there is not much if you look over toward the ocean of any kind of edge. nrscroller amazingkevin and RabidAlien 2 Quote
preprius Posted January 31, 2021 Report Posted January 31, 2021 I live about 1 hour north of big sir. My local news covers this story. We got rain finally. With all the fires last year the officials prepared for this. They shut down Highway 1 the day before all the rain. I havent been to big sir for almost a year. I obey the lockdown. One weekend, there was so much traffic on holiday weekends it took over 2 hours to go 20 miles. Just think if this landslide happened when it was all jammed up.
