Popular Post Scrappile
I subscribe to Steve Good's daily news email, have for several years and I donate to him because like Travis, they offer so much to the scrolling world.. A few days ago, Steve sent a pattern for a little tray, to put finger nail polish in... It thought it looked like a fun thing to make me for my,,,,,--- I mean my wife to have... Really I just needed a simple, fun and maybe useful project... I make lots of un-useful projects... So here it is,, my.. my wife's fingernail polish storage tray...Ahmmmm. 1/4" BB,, If I made it again I would not use plywood, I would use some hardwood... It would just look better, IMHO. dgman
I’m with you Paul, it definitely would look better in hardwood. However, yours looks great! Scrappile

FrankEV
Great job, the other half will love it. I'm with you also, solid wood would look much better. I hate seeing the exposed edges of plywood. I like a lot of Steves Patterns for the scroll work, but I'm not fond of the hole and peg joinery he uses in many of his patterns like tins one. If I was to make a tray like this out of solid wood I would use mitered corners and support tne bottom in a daddo cut into the sides or daddo the bottom for the sides to sit in. Plenty of glue surface that would never come apart. And, I'm sure I could come up with a better ooking design for the feet at the corners. I agree,,, but then you move beyond "Easy and Fun" which was on this project my purpose.. FrankEV and Alexander Fadeev 1
