Just wondering if, by any chance, you might edit your original post to add a little description under each photo of what we are looking at?  It is a very interesting end result, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at in the photos along the way.

Also, again just wondering, what was your reasoning for chosing to use a fabric as a backer?

I wanted to post it as you suggested, but I wasn’t able to do it that way on my phone. Wasn’t able or couldn’t figure out how. Sorry.
I used fabric because I thought it would soften the piece and make it more appealing. Putting the fabric on the backer was extremely easy.I glued the fabric to the front then fastened the head to the backer with a brad nailer nailing into my spacers then attached the back fabric.

Totally amazing! What type of paint do you use?

I used acrylic paint, had to mix most of the colours to get all the different shades. I used brushes that I got from IKEA years ago. Wonderful little brushes the bristles don’t come loose and there are next to no stroke lines.
