Popular Post FrankEV
After seeing the post from Joe W. titled Nautilus Gear, I just had to make one. A quick - just for fun - project with every part made from Walnut and Pine scrap. Pegas #1 MGT R blade. And like Joe said "You can turn it in a complete circle over and over and . . . " Finished with spray Lacquer...it was fun trying to coat everything and not having it stick the moving parts to the stand . Sorry about the clinging dust in the pics. It just doesn't seem like it would even work. I just might cut this one too and give it to my great granddaughter to take to school and she her 2nd grade class. Dick heppnerguy If you do cut it, make sure you use the specified drill size for the holes in the gears. Mine were too big and everything was sloppy and would not work correctly. I cheated and built up the dowels with tape to fill the gap so it would work. If you do not have the correct bit it would be better to use a 1/4" bit and open them up a tad by sanding/filing til the gears turn smoothly.
