Village University - I messed up big time!

I went in today to see if I can make things look a bit nicer, but the software isn't behaving properly.  Every time I try to update the lesson, it deletes it instead.  A few years back, I purchased software that manages courses like this.  Unfortunately, the development of the software was early access begin with.  The forum software has since updated, and the developers of the course software are not keeping up.  So while the Village University is functioning and folks can access the lessons, I'm going to try to figure out a new solution.  So expect some changes to Village University once I get things figured out.

We are all waiting with bated breath to see what you come up with. And I'm sure it will be great.

I have the class content still, but I have to rebuild the whole University from scratch.  Those that were enrolled will have to re-enroll again if they want to check it out.  All of the comments are gone forever, though.

I think I'm going to go on a walk, then I'll get back to rebuilding it.  I'm really sorry you guys.  Never turn your back on technology. 

 

I was loving those classes, and as a relatively computer illiterate sort, was finding your methods easy to folow and extremely informative. Hope you can get it all uo and running soon. You rock for all you do.

I am selfish but I sigh a bit when the big wig makes a oopsy as I am always landing in the you no what when it comes to tech work and the rest.

Well, with all that, I was finally able to move the Village University.  The software I bought to run the classes became broken and useless, so I built my own version.  At the end of the day, I think this will work better, look nicer, and you won't have to "Enroll" to view the lessons.  I'm a little sad that we lost all the comments, though.  There was good discussions in there.  Anyway, check out the new University.  Let me know if you see anything odd or missing.

Back in the dawn of home computers (anybody remember 64K start up disks and Dos?) I had the misfortune to date a techy nerd from Radio Shack.  The only good thing I remember from that relationship was him whispering in my ear:  "Back up! Back up!  Back up your data!"

I'm there with ya!
I've a friend heavy into photography and he uses the cloud and has 3 backup systems at his home.  Said he had Murphy's Law visit him once, and he would not let that happen again.  
It is painful to have so much work become unusable when happens.  Sorry for you loss.
