My latest involves Monkeypod and a intricate fretwork pattern. The Monkeypod is ¼” and I was using a Pegas #3MGT blade when a small piece broke. So I write that one up to experience. The Monkeypod is a pretty wood but It seems to be somewhat lighter and more brittle than other woods I have tried and it tends to have more fuzzies than most. Use e piece of painters tape on the back to hold it in place while the glue dries. a large piece like that is an easy fix...it is the tiny pieces that are hard to deal with. I will be very careful for the remainder of this project and am not likely to choose Monkeypod for future fretwork projects. And you may very well be right. I also contributed to the breakage by the way I cut that section. But I was feeling quite frustrated at the moment.
