Trka2002
I’m having problems with my Hegner, it keeps breaking blades. You can see in the photo where they are breaking, and I can’t figure out why. The blades are pegas #5 and it’s a hagner quick clamp. Does anyone know how to fix this? MrsN
Is the blade clamp too tight or loose in the holder? I haven't had a hegner in a while, but I think there is a screw that holds the clamp in place. If the clamp moves too much or not enough the blades can break. Wichman
here are pics of my clamps (very new) note that the blade is more "centered". After checking the top screw and the blade tension you might try adjusting the set screw on the left hand side; I'm talking one or two thousands of an inch. WayneMahler
Two things come to mind. Check the left set screws and make sure it is properly adjusted. You photo looks like in may be in a bit causing the blade to flex there. The second would be to remove both set screws and look at the ends where they contact the blade, they should be flat with no sharp edges. This would apply to all saws not just Hegner. Make sure they are clean also. Oil can built up from the manufacturing process of making the blades. OCtoolguy
Trka2002
Thanks to all who replied. I made a few adjustments and it seems to be working better. OCtoolguy and Roberta Moreton

Also, make sure the quick clamp is held snug in it's cradle. It's not supposed to move or rock like the regular clamps. There has been a discussion of this recently.
