Popular Post munzieb
Found a small fret box pattern I liked. Bubinga wood. Too small for hinges on the top so did a drop in top. Could not stack cut sides because they are too small. Shellac and lacquer finish. stoney, lawson56, Fish and 19 others

FrankEV
That is just a great looking box. Great fretwork cutting and I love that you mitered the vertical side wall joints. top and bottom very nicely detailed. munzieb

JAC1961
Beautiful work! What's bubinga like to cut? It's one I've never used and I'm usually a little apprehensive of exotics.
Rockytime
WOW, that's a gorgeous box. I'm totally impressed with the mitered corners. I don't know what tool or saw you use to that but dang, it looks good.
preprius
I like it. I think the choice of wood was great. I will need to order some bubinga. But I see a lot work and a lot of holes. I need a vacation to make it.

If it was 1/2" or larger material, I would have to cut the miters on a table saw or router but since it's only 1/4" I use my belt/disc sander. It has a plate on the disc side where the angle can be adjusted and I set it to 30 degrees. It has a sliding miter on the plate and I feed the piece against the disc until I get a sharp edge. I just make sure all the pieces are the same length. I did the same with all the small pieces I used for stops on the top. danny and meflick
