Rolf
For my fine inlay work I use a #70 bit (.028") I have bought quality bits from Mcmaster Carr. You can also get them from Amazon or best of all support our scroll saw blade suppliers. OCtoolguy
LarryEA
I found that a drill bit smaller than #65 are also shorter. It's hard to find one long enough to drill thru more than a 1/2 inch. MrsN
For most things I use a 1/16" drill bit. It is big enough for easy blade entry and small enough for most of the projects that I do. I buy cheap ones from harbor freight. I tend to loose or snap them before I really dull them. OCtoolguy

I need some smaller. I'm not sure the size of the community you live in, but if its big enough to support a welding and machine shop, they will most likely have them. I can source tiny drill bits at ACME tools or Fastenall where I am. Model rail road folks use tiny drills too I think. You'll not likely find a store supporting that hobby anymore though. I NEVER thought of Fastenall. I will have to go and check them out. OCtoolguy

Just curious. Why do you say there are no stores supporting model railroading. There may be fewer as ebay has cut into it. Ceric ME
Silly question time, I know about Metric and SAE drill bits but what is the system for the number ones I keep seeing? On Model railroads, it is hard to find stores for the hobby anymore but, if your in Nashville, TN. Philips Toymart has a railroad section and can order you in a lot of different stuff. I believe they are wire gauge bits.... And the higher the number, the smaller the bit.... anything to make life easier for us common folks... right??!! preprius
I found longer #65 cobalt drill bits. For angle cuts and stack cutting. 1.5 inches long. #68 is 1.375 long. https://www.panamericantool.com/cobalt-aircraft-drills-wire-gauge-number-sizes.html OCtoolguy
rash_powder
Try a local machine shop. They will likely have a large amount of the numbered drill bits. Where I live is an Acme Tools; they have many in stock at the store. OCtoolguy

I'm ordering 4 packs of 56, 57, 59, 60 and it's going to run me $30. Qtena.com has cobalt for $12.95 per 10 pack.
