Fantastic work, Paul!
I'm curious about what type of finish you put on portraits like this?
God Bless! Spirithorse

I always wait a day or two to apply finish because I use MS to remove the pattern... Then I sand it a little and hit it with about 3 - coats of Deft Clear Lacquer.  Usually satin or simi-gloss.

@Rockytime  thanks, 11 1/2" x 13 1/2" x 1/4"

Thank you. I just ordered and received that pattern  It's a "got to cut" pattern! I see where the eyebrow and ear can be challenging but which of Charles Dearing's patterns are not. Don't usually cut them as they are large. I'm enlarging by 165% making the pattern approximately 9-1/2" X 11-1/4". I hate cutting large pieces as when necessary to swing the BB I interfere with it as I sit very close to the saw. Usually I limit myself to a 10X13 inch piece. I'll give it a whirl. I'm sure I lose more pieces than you did.
