For the Birds - Scroll Saw Challenge

Here are some of my contributions

I'll add another bird before we go on to the next challenge. I cut it last week. It's a Sheila Landry pattern cut in Maple with a Mahogany backer sprayed with rattle can satin Lacquer.

Eagles are made from 3mm Aluminum ..14 inches high ..bird is made of ply

Are the eagles cut with the scroll saw? Very nice.

Yes ..The Eagles are out of 3mm aluminum cut on a jet 22b scroll saw with a No5 reverse ...Just need to go at slow speed and try not to let blade bite into the metal or it pulls it in ..Here are a couple of better views of them ... I do quite a lot in Aluminum

Thanks ..Once you've tried it withe aluminum its quite easy ,,just take your time ..The metal i'm using is just the stuff they use for signage ..its called diabond ..Theres a place in Glasgow does A4,A5 sheets of it at a not bad price . I tried metal blades but found that No5 skip reverse seemed to be better ..Hope you enjoy trying something new .

Here is a Bald Eagle I have made. Turns out I have made this about six times and haven’t had an opportunity to cut out a Macaw like I want. Enjoy.

A project I finished back this winter. Started with a 2 X 4, milled and glued into a panel then cut. The birds are colored with a sharpie, snow painted and the leafs are stain.

I was visiting with my brother today (61st birthday) and I finally got a picture of the eagle I cut for him 30 odd years ago. 1/4" plywood, oak stain, cut with my first saw; 13" craftsman knock off of a Dremel. 3" pin end blades 25 teeth per inch:
